Good evening (or morning) everyone, I hope you are all doing well!
1. Fit Test
Fitness testing is coming up soon! Here is a general plan of the coming weeks:
Week of Oct 25: Mock fit-tests for plank and push-ups during drylands Week of Nov 1: Plank and pushups (during drylands)
Week of Nov 8: Pull-ups, bench press, pendlay row and rowing erg (during a slot at DBAC)
The first period of testing is mandatory for all members while the second week is only mandatory for those considering the competitive team. We do encourage all to take part in the strength portion to set benchmarks and goals for the year (and who knows, you might want to try for the competitive team down the line!).
2. Gym intro sessions
The exec team has been hosting gym sessions at DBAC (David Bradley Athletic Centre). We will show members proper form for:
· Squats
· Deadlift
· Bench press
· Pendlay rows
· and if time permits, pull ups and rowing erg.
These sessions are mandatory and will count towards attendance as well as be crucial for upcoming fitness testing. If attending, sign up based on the Eventbrite time slots at least two days prior (See the Schedules & Sign-ups on the website for links). There are currently only two more sessions, so act soon!
*If you are unable to register through the pulse website, or are experiences extenuating circumstances, email us or message an exec to schedule a tutorial outside of these times.
3. Drylands
All dryland sessions will be running this week as scheduled, meeting at the Alumni Field (if weather permits). If inclement weather, our rainy-day location will be Ivor Wynne Centre (IWC) South lobby. Sign up on the Eventbrite and we hope to see you all there!
*Additionally, if you have already attended 2+ dryland sessions, and you have not paid the $15 team fee, please do so before arrival at the scheduled dryland. This is a one-time $15 fee to join the Mac Dragon Boat Club as a general member. Follow the instructions on the Eventbrite page for more information.
Those are the announcements for this week! Any questions can be directed to our social medias.
Keep it fresh,
MDBC Execs
